The 119th winner of the 1000 Guineas, held on Friday 29th April 1932 over the Rowley Mile, was Kandy (33/1), a bay filly by Alcantaraz out of Kiao-Tchau, owned by Evremond de Saint-Alary. The winner won by a length in 1 minute 44 secs, with a further length back to the third. A field of 19 runners contested the race which was worth £5,050 (Equivalent to £316,600 in 2017). She was trained in France by Frank Carter, but sent to England to be based at Clarehaven, Newmarket, stables run by Victor Gilpin.
